Hey there!
My name is Olivia Jude, and I am a creative problem solver.
As a kid, I loved to draw and play around with various editing/design programs, but never leaned into that interest. When I got to High School I would have told you that I would one day be a doctor, or a chemist, or something in the science field. I went to Berry College with every intention of going to medical school four years later. I took all of the pre-med classes, studied as hard as I could, but it just wasn't the right fit.
Halfway through college (and my chemistry degree) I decided to take an intro 2-D Art Design class that would completely change the course of my college career and my life. Because of my past experience with various design programs, I learned quickly in the class that this wasn't just something that would be a hobby. I loved learning aboutcolor theory and visual design theory. Realizing that there was so much thought put into
something as simple as a magazine advertisement blew me away and completely changed the way I saw the world. By the end of my Sophomore year in college I had decided to change my major to marketing. By majoring in marketing, I was able to combine my love for problem solving with my creative nature.
Two years after that defining moment, I graduated from Berry College with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Chemistry. Through a few elective design courses in college and my job as the Features Editor for our school newspaper, I was able to develop my skill set in graphic design. I am proud to say that, for the most part, I am a self-taught graphic designer. This means I am constantly learning and always go into a project with an open mind.
After graduating in 2014, I have worked for a variety of companies, restaurants, and even a start-up app, all in a marketing capacity. Through my various positions, I have cultivated many skills in addition to graphic design including, but not limited to,
• project management • event planning • social media marketing • customer relationship management •
• internal communications • brand management • storytelling • public relations •
My goal is to be able to use my diverse set of skills to help others find find creative solutions for their company's or individual needs. Whether it's designing a logo for a small business, consulting a restaurant on the customer's experience, or managing a large scale 3 month long project/event, I put the same amount of energy and effort into all of my work and designs.
